This was a well-written full biography of Winfield Scott Hancock. Having read Jordan's book on Gouverneur Kemble Warren, I knew this biography would also be well-written. That being said, it was not as interesting as the Biography on Warren.

But, it detailed Hancock's life Winfield Scott Hancock () was a U.S. Army officer and politician who served as a Union general during the Civil War (). Widely recognized as one of the war’s most brilliant This book covers alot of ground not mentioned in the Glenn Tucker book-for instance there is a good section in regard to the Mary Surratt trial and Hancock comes off looking not so good.
